The Secret Plan Behind Aminka Ozmun’s Goal to Take Over the Romance eBook World

It’s about as ambitious as they come, but the former model and medical science student is used to challenges.  Now an author of paranormal interracial romances, Aminka Ozmun hopes to take over the world of romance eBooks online by employing any number of marketing strategies both proven and brand-new.

Not all of it will be subject to the public knowledge such a review as this would make of it but the details she’s allowed to trickle out in advance of her upcoming website are tantalizing: traditional article marketing, social media promotions, group discounts, holiday sales, affiliate programs (a first for fiction), and, to top it all off, a call for sponsorship — to the tune of twenty thousand dollars (another industry first).

The sheer scope of what’s proposed has had many casual observers scratching their heads.  ”I wouldn’t say she’s wrong in anything in itself, exactly,” said one online marketing expert.  ”It’s just that she’s tackling quite a lot for someone so otherwise inexperienced, with no proven track record in the field.”  The author herself brushes off such commentary.  ”I can be quite the perfectionist and it just feels better this way to me, putting my best foot forward on all fronts.”  Further criticism she dismisses by resorting to her boyfriend, who also works in marketing.  ”He’s already warned me of the obvious risks, but we both actually agree that it would be a great learning experience if nothing else.  And I do expect at least a little something else, if you know what I mean!”

It would appear, with a prolonged consideration, that the author is much too busy with her site and her fiction to have fully thought out the implications of her online marketing strategy, such as it is.  Can such a neophyte come out on top against the likes of established bestsellers already sitting pretty high up above her?  And what of the fans?  Are there any?  2012 looks to be a very interesting year in the field of electronic self-publishing!
